The moon descends, crows caw, frostiness fills the sky;
riverside maples, fishermen’s lights, facing me in my worried sleep.
Outside Gusu city lies Cold Mountain Temple;
at midnight, the sound of bells reaches the ferries.
The cold mountain temple is famous for the poem Night for Maple Bridge. Lots of visitors come from all the nearby town to see the quite bridges over flowing stream, willows dancing in the breeze, pavilions and towers with their shadows reflected in the water. It was as still and steady as dreaming.
I went there in this quiet and peaceful morning after breakfast.
The poet Zhangji was unable to sleep in such scene because of sorrow. He felt lonely and homesick after seeing the maple trees and the lights of the fishing boats reflected in the water. But to me, the sightseeing is quite common here.
All the pavilions are harmonious with the surrounding environment.
The manger used to tie the horses.
In the ancient times, those ones who own the rice shops should be very rich.
More walls were put up to defend the borders of the different kingdoms.
I like to take photos of these yellow daisy-like flowers. It’s really beautiful
The Maple bridge is located in Gusu, another name for Suzhou city. And the cold mountain temple is located near the Maple bridge. The atmosphere was so full of warmth and silence. With my son sleeping in my arms, I felt like all my worries slowly move away.
